At Saltamontes, the menu evolves just like the space itself — slowly, thoughtfully, and with a deep love for local flavours. Our Goan tapas menu is currently taking shape, and a few favourites have already found their way to the table. Right now, guests can enjoy crispy fried bhindi and prawn rissóis, served as easy, shareable plates meant to be savoured with drinks and conversation.
These small plates are designed for grazing — perfect alongside a cocktail, a cold beer, or a long evening of music in the garden. They reflect the spirit of Goa: bold flavours, relaxed pacing, and food that brings people together.
This is just the beginning. As we continue experimenting and refining, more Goan tapas will be dropping soon. Until then, try what’s on offer, soak in the vibes, and stay tuned — the best bites are yet to come.
Tuesdays at Saltamontes are anything but quiet. As the sun dips and the garden lights come on, the mic opens up for Karaoke Night — a weekly ritual that turns strangers into performers and friends into cheerleaders. The rules are simple: Sing. Take a free shot. Repeat.
From bold power ballads to nostalgic throwbacks and unexpected crowd favourites, karaoke at Saltamontes is less about perfection and more about participation. The crowd listens, sings along, laughs, and celebrates every performance — whether it’s your first time on the mic or your tenth song of the night.
Set in the lush garden café and bar in Anjuna, Karaoke Tuesdays are about letting go after a long day, meeting new faces, and soaking in the easy, welcoming vibe that Saltamontes is known for. Come for the singing, stay for the drinks, the people, and the feeling that keeps you coming back — Tuesday after Tuesday.
Sundays at Saltamontes are all about movement, music, and connection. Jive Night brings a lively midweek rhythm to the garden, where dancers, beginners and seasoned swingers alike come together to move, mingle, and let loose. Set under warm lights and open skies, the evening blends classic swing energy with the easygoing charm that defines Saltamontes. It’s social, joyful, and effortlessly inviting — whether you’re dancing all night or simply soaking in the vibe with a drink in hand.
This December, Jive Wednesday gets a festive twist. On 24th December, Saltamontes hosts a Christmas Special Jive Social, turning the dance floor into a celebration of vintage sounds and holiday cheer. The night will feature a live 60s and 70s Rock ’n’ Roll set by Kern & Friends, bringing nostalgia, energy, and festive magic together.
Hosted at Saltamontes – Garden Cafe & Bar, Jive Wednesdays — and this Christmas Eve — promise music, movement, and memories worth keeping.
At Saltamontes, sustainability isn’t a trend — it’s a way of life. Beyond the lush garden café setting in Anjuna, the greens continue into the kitchen itself. All wet waste from the café is carefully composted, closing the loop between consumption and creation. What comes back to the soil is now giving life to something special: a growing kitchen herb garden.
Fresh herbs are being nurtured on-site, slowly shaping a small kitchen garden with big intentions. It’s about conscious choices, mindful cooking, and staying rooted in the land that hosts us. This step reflects Saltamontes’ belief in slowing down, respecting nature, and creating spaces that give back.
As a café, bar, co-working and co-living space, Saltamontes – Garden Cafe & Bar continues to evolve — not just through music, events, and community, but through thoughtful, sustainable practices. Small actions today, greener dreams tomorrow.
Every Saturday night, Saltamontes turns into pure soul. Under the trees and lights, Rock & Roll and Blues take over the garden, shifting the café into a lively open-air stage. Musicians plug in, guests gather with drinks in hand, and soon the entire space is vibrating with rhythm. There’s singing, dancing, cheering, and moments that feel like they only happen here.
Soul Saturday is not just a gig — it’s a weekly ritual. Locals, travellers, digital nomads and regulars all return for the same reason: the energy. You can sit close to the band, chat at the bar, or lose yourself on the dance floor. Here, music blurs into memories. The nights feel long, the crowd feels familiar, and the madness feels magical.
Every Saturday is different, yet exactly the same: Rock & Roll, Blues, good food, happy people… and that unmistakable Saltamontes soul.
Saltamontes isn’t a place you simply visit. It’s a place you feel. The Vibe Board at Saltamontes holds all the small and big things that make this garden café and bar in Anjuna feel like home. It is the collection of moments: a group of friends laughing over drinks, a stranger picking up a guitar, someone dancing barefoot in the grass, someone working peacefully under a palm tree. Memories get pinned here every day — in conversations, sunsets, and music.
By morning, Saltamontes is a café where people work, read, journal or just breathe. By evening, lights twinkle, cocktails pour, and the vibe shifts into music, movement and soulful chaos. It’s not curated — it’s lived. People arrive from everywhere, but the energy makes them stay. The Vibe Board is not just a wall, it’s a feeling: the memories, the music, and the madness that make this place unforgettable.
If you’ve ever visited Saltamontes, you already know the truth: the humans think they run the place, but the animals absolutely do. Our cats treat the café like their personal lounge, neighbourhood dogs wander in as if they’ve booked a co-working desk, and the trees around the space are always full of birds that add their own soundtrack to the day.
Saltamontes was built around the idea of community living, and honestly, no community feels complete without its animals. They’re part of the charm here—unfiltered, playful, and very much at home.
The Cats: The True Managers of the Property
We have a few cats who’ve adopted Saltamontes as their kingdom. They roam between the café tables, nap on the co-working chairs, or quietly sit beside guests who look like they need emotional support (or a snack they can steal).
They’re friendly enough to make you feel welcome, independent enough not to disturb your workflow, and charismatic enough to make everyone reach for their cameras. Many guests joke that the cats are the unofficial co-founders of the place—and honestly, we don’t disagree.
The dogs aren’t technically ours, but they’ve decided that Saltamontes is part of their daily rounds. They drop by, say hi, flop onto the cool floor for a nap, and then wander out once they’ve had enough attention.
Their presence always adds an easy warmth to the space, especially for long-stay guests or remote workers who miss their pets back home. There’s something grounding about working on your laptop with a sleepy dog curled up nearby—it makes the environment feel less like a workspace and more like a home.
Birds, Trees, and the Saltamontes Calm
One thing guests often mention is how surprisingly peaceful the place feels, despite being right in the heart of Anjuna. A big part of that is the nature around us. The trees attract birds all day long—morning chirps, afternoon rustles, little bursts of colour landing on branches overhead.
It blends beautifully with the everyday rhythm of Saltamontes: typing keyboards, coffee brewing, quiet conversations, clinking glasses, and a soundtrack of life happening around you.
Why This Matters to Us
Saltamontes isn’t a typical co-living or co-working space. It’s not sterile, corporate, or overly structured. It’s a place built for people who like to work, relax, connect, and be part of something. And animals bring a kind of authenticity you just can’t design.
Whether you’re here for a cocktail, attending an event, or staying long-term, the animals make the place feel lighter. A little more alive. A little more human.
Come for the Café. Stay for the Community. And the Cats.
People often visit Saltamontes for our food, coffee, events, or co-working setup—but they stay because the place feels warm. And sometimes, that warmth comes with whiskers and wagging tails.
If you’re planning a visit to Anjuna—whether to work remotely, to experience a community-driven co-living space, or just to enjoy a cosy café—don’t be surprised if a cat chooses your lap or a dog decides to sit beside you.
At Saltamontes, everyone’s welcome. Humans included.
One of the best parts about staying in Anjuna is the freedom to explore—quiet lanes shaded with palm trees, unexpected viewpoints, cafés tucked between rice fields, and those little local corners you only find when you wander without a plan. At Saltamontes, we wanted our guests to experience this side of Goa with ease. So we decided to keep it simple: complimentary bikes for every staying guest.
Saltamontes isn’t just a café or a co-working spot—it’s a little ecosystem of travellers, remote workers, creators, and locals who often end up discovering Goa together. The complimentary bikes align with that spirit: slow travel, community, and giving people the space to explore at their own pace.
A More Personal Way to Experience Anjuna
Most people picture Goa as beaches and nightlife, but Anjuna has a softer side—narrow village roads, sunrise views you have to hunt for, and local bakeries that open before the crowd wakes up. When you’re cycling around, you become part of the rhythm of the neighbourhood instead of rushing past it.
With the bikes, guests often explore:
Anjuna and Vagator beaches
Local markets, especially the Wednesday Flea Market
Independent cafés and small bakeries
Hidden sunset points
Neighbourhood grocery stores and fruit carts
Boutique stores and designer pop-ups
It’s a simple convenience, but it changes how your stay feels. Instead of being dependent on taxis or scooters, you can grab a bike and just go.
Eco-Friendly, Easy, and Definitely More Fun
Saltamontes attracts a lot of digital nomads, remote workers, and long-stay travellers—people who already appreciate sustainability and slow living. Having bicycles available supports that mindset. It’s a greener alternative, and it also fits the vibe of a co-living and co-working community that values mindful choices.
Plus, riding a bike through Anjuna is just… fun. The air feels lighter, the roads feel friendlier, and your plans feel less rigid. You can take detours, follow random signboards, stop for chai, or turn down a road simply because the trees looked nice. Goa is meant to be experienced that way.
Part of the Saltamontes Experience
Saltamontes started as a café and community space, and over time it became a place where travellers live, work, connect, and build memories. We host events, we serve great food and cocktails, and we create spaces where people feel comfortable—whether they’re working on a laptop, grabbing brunch, or dancing at a night event.
The complimentary bikes are just another extension of that hospitality. It’s our way of saying: Feel at home. Move freely. Explore like a local.
Guests often return telling us about the unexpected spots they discovered—quiet chapels, scenic routes, or a viewpoint someone casually mentioned at breakfast. It’s always a reminder that the best parts of Goa aren’t always on Google Maps; they’re found on the road you decide to take.
If you’re planning a stay in Anjuna and want a blend of comfort, community, and the freedom to explore, Saltamontes might be the perfect fit. And if you see someone cycling past with a big smile—it’s probably one of our guests enjoying the ride.
Amidst lush greenery, under the shade of enormous trees, the pristine set-up of a garden bar and cafe is where all the fun in Goa is taking place. There’s mud under your feet and the speaker beside you is blasting rock and metal music. Such is the vibe at the Goa Freedom Fest. This celebration of music and an actual party for the attendees is organised by Saltamontes in Goa. It features the best rock bands of Goa and is held between the 14 and 15th of August 2023. Some of the bands playing are Rockets, Rough Lips, Indigo Children, Elvis Lobo Trio, Jungle Juice and Electric Pulse.
Summer brings not just sunshine, but also a refreshing seasonal drink to the State of Goa. Urrak is a local liquor that is brewed from ripe cashew apples. Lovingly named “Jungle Juice”, Urrak makes a seasonal appearance from February to May.
t is the first distillate of the cashew apple—milder than feni, with a subtle aroma and punchy, tropical, fruity notes. And guess what’s the best part? It’s hangover free! Jungle juice pairs best with some Limca and a dash of lime, rock salt and green chilli. Try it and thank us later!
